Students of Bolan Medical College have announced a peaceful protest over what they describe as persistent administrative negligence, harassment and academic irregularities on campus.

According to the students, the protest, scheduled for Monday, will call for reforms in the examination and viva system, improved hostel facilities and accountability for teachers accused of inappropriate behaviour.

Students said poor hostel conditions, an unfair viva pattern and actions by teachers driven by “personal interests” have created a climate of fear and mental stress. They said these problems have existed for years but have been met with administrative indifference.

“This year’s pathology department scandal has created deep anxiety among us,” one group of students said, adding that the incident reflects “a continuous pattern of pressure and injustice within the college.”

Students also alleged that bias in supplementary examinations and threats from certain teachers, even against those with high internal marks, have become routine. They said restrictions on student functions, sports activities and cultural events have further stifled academic and social development.

“Our only demand is a fair and respectful environment,” the students said. “We want reforms that will make Bolan Medical College a better and safer institution for everyone.”

The organizers said the demonstration will remain peaceful and that no aggressive behavior will be tolerated.
