Baloch armed groups have claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated attacks across several districts in Balochistan that, according to their statements, left nine Pakistani forces’ personnel dead and several others injured.
In a statement released to the media, Jeeyand Baloch, spokesperson for the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), said that its fighters carried out six separate operations in Kharan, Kalat, Nushki, Naseerabad, and Dhadar, targeting what he described as positions and convoys of Pakistani security forces.
According to the BLA, the most significant attack took place in Lijjay, Kharan, where its fighters ambushed a military convoy allegedly advancing into the area for operations. The group claimed that three vehicles were directly hit, killing four soldiers and injuring several others.
The spokesperson further stated that in Kalat’s Sheikhri and Murgand areas, BLA fighters attacked military posts in engagements that lasted for an extended period and involved the use of heavy and automatic weapons. The group claimed that at least three personnel were killed and several wounded in those assaults.
A separate attack was reported in Shah Mardan, also in Kalat, where one Pakistani soldier was allegedly killed and others sustained losses in an assault on a military post.
In Noshki, the BLA said it targeted checkpoints guarding a main Pakistani military camp near the town’s bus terminal. One soldier was reportedly killed in that incident, and a surveillance camera installed by the Pakistani forces was destroyed, according to the statement.
The group also claimed responsibility for an attack in Dera Murad Jamali, Naseerabad, where a police vehicle was targeted with a hand grenade, injuring three personnel. Another grenade attack was reported in Dhadar, in which two soldiers were said to have been wounded.
The BLA spokesperson concluded that the group takes responsibility for all these operations.
Separately, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) also claimed responsibility for an attack on the Jaffar Express train in Naseerabad’s Notaal area.
In a statement, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said that its fighters fired rockets and other heavy weapons at the train, which, according to him, was carrying Pakistani military personnel. The group claimed that both the train and military forces suffered unspecified casualties and damages.
The BRG reiterated that such attacks would continue until what it described as the “liberation of Balochistan.”
There has been no immediate confirmation or comment from official security sources regarding the claims made by the groups.
