At least four Pakistani soldiers were reportedly killed and two others, including an officer, injured in an armed attack on a military convoy in Balochistan’s Washuk district on Sunday.

The attack took place in the Pathk area of Basima when a convoy of three military vehicles came under attack from unidentified assailants. Sources said the attackers used automatic and heavy weapons to target the vehicles, with gunfire and explosions heard for several minutes.

Pakistani authorities confirmed the death of one soldier and injuries to an officer, but local sources said the number of casualties was likely higher.

Later, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for the ambush.

In a statement, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the group’s fighters attacked three military vehicles on the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route in the Pathk area of Washuk at around 9 a.m.

He said four Pakistani soldiers were “eliminated on the spot” and two others, including an officer, were injured, adding that the fighters safely withdrew after the operation.

The BLF said the attack was based on intelligence provided by its secret wing and reaffirmed that its operations would continue “until the complete withdrawal of occupying forces and the freedom of Balochistan.”

Meanwhile, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) also claimed responsibility for multiple attacks in Naseerabad and Dera Bugti districts on Saturday night.

BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said the group’s fighters attacked the residence of an alleged government-backed figure, Ali Mardan Palal, in Dera Murad Jamali with a hand grenade. He said Palal narrowly escaped the attack.

The group also claimed that its fighters opened fire on vehicles belonging to a military construction company operating along the Pat Feeder–Mir Hassan Road in Dera Murad Jamali, damaging several vehicles.

Additionally, BRG fighters reportedly planted explosive charges on three gas pipelines at the Pyara Colony site in Sui, Dera Bugti, destroying one pipeline completely and damaging two others.

The BRG said such operations would continue until “the liberation of Balochistan.”

In a separate incident, unknown armed men attacked police personnel in Dalbandin, Chagai district, late Saturday night, seizing government-issued weapons and other equipment.

Local sources said the assailants disarmed the officers and took away their weapons but did not harm them physically, releasing them soon after. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
