The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said on Saturday that its fighters carried out an improvised explosive device (IED) attack targeting Pakistani army personnel in the Zehri area of Balochistan, killing two soldiers and injuring three others.
In a media statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the attack took place on October 6 and targeted members of the army’s bomb disposal squad. He claimed the explosion was triggered with a remote-controlled device and caused “significant losses” to Pakistani forces.
“The attack was carried out by freedom fighters of the Baloch Liberation Army,” the spokesperson said, adding that the group took full responsibility for the operation.
There was no immediate response from Pakistani authorities to the BLA’s claim.
