Reports from Kharan district in Balochistan indicate that a group of armed men surrounded and set fire to a local court building before abducting Judge Muhammad Jan Baloch.
According to local sources, a large number of armed individuals stormed the premises, torched the building, and took the judge away to an unknown location.
In recent weeks, Balochistan has witnessed a rise in incidents involving the abduction of senior government officials. Earlier, the deputy commissioner of Kech district’s Tump and the deputy commissioner of Ziarat, along with his son, were also kidnapped.
The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) had claimed responsibility for the abduction of the Tump deputy commissioner, who was later released. However, the Ziarat deputy commissioner and his son remain missing. No group claimed responsibility for the abduction of DC Ziarat.
As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the Kharan incident.
