At least seven people were killed and two others injured when a passenger bus collided with a car on the M-8 CPEC highway in Panjgur district, rescue officials said on Saturday.
The collision took place in the Gomazin area, where a fire broke out in both vehicles, trapping several passengers who burned to death on the spot, according to rescue sources.
Teams from Rescue 1122 arrived at the scene and transported the injured and the bodies to Panjgur Teaching Hospital. Police said the highway has been temporarily closed to traffic as rescue and clearance operations continue.
Road safety remains a major concern in Balochistan. According to official data, more than 20,300 road accidents were reported in 2024, resulting in at least 471 deaths and over 30,000 injuries.
