Two Baloch armed groups said they carried out attacks in Balochistan, including a train bombing in Mastung and the brief detention of police personnel, while the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Baloch Raaji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS) released video footage of earlier operations in August and September targeting Pakistani forces.
According to Levies officials, a train was hit by an explosion on Saturday in Mastung district, damaging the track and several carriages. Police and Levies personnel cordoned off the site and launched an investigation, while security across Mastung and surrounding areas was placed on high alert.
In a statement, Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) spokesperson Dostain Baloch said the group’s fighters detonated a remote-controlled IED at Terah Mile in the Dasht area of Mastung. He claimed the blast caused “severe damage” to the train’s engine and carriages.
“The Baloch Republican Guards accept responsibility for this attack, and such operations will continue until the freedom of Balochistan is achieved,” the statement said.
Another “pro-independence” group, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), said its fighters detained police personnel stationed in the Killi Karez Sur area of Mastung on 1 September. BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said weapons and equipment were seized during the operation, but the officers were later released unharmed “as they were Baloch” after being warned.
Meanwhile, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) released a video showing multiple IED attacks on Pakistani forces in Kech district during August and September.
The one-minute, 46-second clip shows three operations, including a 9 September attack in Tump that targeted a Pakistani forces vehicle, and two attacks in Zamuran against soldiers on foot patrol.
Earlier this week, the BLA also published video footage of another IED explosion in Zamuran on 7 September, in which it claimed nine soldiers were killed. In a separate attack in the same area, the group said seven personnel were killed.
On Sunday, the Baloch Raaji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS) released new footage of coordinated attacks carried out in August.
The video shows fighters setting up roadblocks on major highways and launching assaults on Pakistani forces. It also shows BRAS fighters taking control of the towns of Basima and Zehri, where they seized government buildings. The group claimed around 50 personnel were killed in those two operations.
