A man was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces in the Lehri region late last night, while another reappeared in Kech district after five years in custody, highlighting the continued crisis of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.

According to local sources, Pakistani forces raided a house near Lehri, district Sibi, and detained a man identified as Mah Madali s/o Masakali. He was taken into custody and moved to an undisclosed location. Family members reported that during the raid, security personnel also seized valuables from the house, including a motorcycle.

Meanwhile, in a rare development, a Baloch missing person identified as Shams s/o Muhammad Ishaq returned home on Friday after five years in incommunicado detention. Shams was allegedly abducted by Pakistani forces on June 30, 2021, from the Absar area of Kech district. His family had repeatedly protested his disappearance and made several appeals to the local administration over the years.

The incident adds to the growing list of enforced disappearances across Balochistan, where families continue to demand the safe return of their loved ones. Rights groups and local activists have condemned these practices, calling them systematic and unlawful. The issue remains a central concern for the families of victims, many of whom have been protesting for years without justice or accountability.
