An armed attack targeted two security vehicles in the Daman area near Iranshahr, Sistan-Baluchestan, on Friday, leaving at least five personnel dead, according to Iranian state media.
The militant group Jaish al-Adl claimed responsibility for the assault, stating in a statement that its fighters had attacked a police patrol unit (FARAJA) and seized weapons from the slain personnel.
Eyewitnesses reported that the attack took place on the main highway in Daman as the security convoy was passing through the area.
Following the incident, security was tightened in and around Iranshahr, particularly in Daman and adjoining areas.
