Heavy monsoon rains have triggered widespread destruction across several districts of Balochistan, leaving at least 16 people dead, including women and children, and injuring eight others in rain-related incidents.
According to officials, the fatalities were caused by house collapses, flash floods, and other rain-induced accidents. The most affected areas include Zhob, Ziarat, Musa Khel, Khuzdar, Loralai, Lasbela, and Kohlu, where low-lying neighborhoods were inundated and key roads blocked, severely disrupting local mobility and emergency response.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported that since June 28, at least 58 homes have been damaged across Balochistan — 11 completely destroyed and 47 partially affected.
Relief efforts are underway. Authorities are distributing food, tents, and other essential supplies to affected residents, while rescue operations continue with the support of PDMA personnel and local administration teams.
The public has been urged to avoid rivers and unnecessary travel during the monsoon season, and to strictly follow safety advisories issued by local authorities to prevent further casualties.
