Military operations by Pakistani security forces have entered their fourth consecutive day in the Kalat and Mastung districts of Balochistan. Reports suggest that the forces are facing armed resistance from Baloch fighters, resulting in casualties, including the death of a Pakistan Army major and several other personnel.
According to local sources, hundreds of Pakistani soldiers—both on foot and in military vehicles—are advancing through the Kohak area of Kalat, with support from gunship helicopters. Aerial shelling has reportedly been carried out in several locations during the operation.
In Mastung, security forces are said to be attempting further advances in the areas of Splijia, Maro, and Kabo.
The operation has reportedly met with stiff resistance from armed Baloch groups. On the first day, security forces were targeted in three separate attacks. According to sources, the attackers seized weapons from the deceased personnel.
Yesterday, the bodies of fallen Pakistani soldiers were reportedly airlifted from the area by helicopters.
So far, the deaths of six security personnel, including a major, have been confirmed in connection with the clashes and bomb attacks. However, there are concerns that the actual number of casualties may be higher.
No official statement has yet been issued by the military regarding the progress of the operation or the reported losses.
