A military operation reportedly underway in Gowarkop and nearby areas of Balochistan’s Kech district has led to the displacement of several local families, amid reports of increased military presence and activity.
According to reports, Pakistani military forces have been conducting search operations in the region over the past several days. Residents report house searches, drone surveillance at night, and occasional aerial firing, contributing to growing concern and uncertainty among the local population.
Witnesses say multiple areas have been searched without prior notice, and mortar fire has also been reported in the vicinity. The situation has led to a temporary suspension of daily life in affected areas, with educational institutions, businesses, and public movement largely disrupted.
As a result, a number of families from Gowarkop and adjacent villages have begun relocating to Turbat and its surrounding areas, citing safety concerns.
Local sources state that a broader operation in the mountainous region surrounding Gowarkop began late last night. However, due to communication disruptions in the area, independent verification of the situation remains limited. No official statement has been issued by the authorities at the time of filing this report.
