A major scandal reportedly involving fake academic credentials and record tampering has emerged from the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Quetta, prompting arrests and a widening anti-corruption investigation.

According to the Anti-Corruption Establishment Quetta, five senior government officials and a student have been arrested following court orders issued under case CP-53/2025.

The case centers around a student identified as Saeedullah s/o Lal Jan, from Washuk district, who allegedly colluded with board officials to obtain a forged and tampered mark sheet. On the basis of this falsified academic record, he was admitted to Bolan Medical College under merit – despite his original marks being insufficient for to qualify for admission.

An investigative team was formed by the Anti-Corruption Establishment, which gathered relevant records and testimony. The investigation confirmed that the marks sheet was doctored, and officials at the board had abused their authority to manipulate records and facilitate the fraudulent admission.

The court subsequently ordered the registration of an FIR and legal action against all involved. The arrested officials include Additional Controller Noor Ahmed, Deputy Controller Munawar Hussain, Assistant Saeed Ahmed, staff member Abdul Qayyum, and Assistant Secretary Muhammad Aslam – all of whom are accused of playing key roles in the forgery.

A spokesperson for the Anti-Corruption Establishment stated that further arrests are expected and that the scope of the investigation is being expanded to uncover the full network involved in the scam.
