Two separate bomb attacks in Balochistan’s Bolan and Sibi districts have left one dead, several injured, and disrupted railway operations, according to officials and a statement issued by an insurgent group.

In the first incident, unidentified motorcyclists threw a hand grenade at a group of people sitting in a street in the village in the Macch area of Bolan district. The explosion killed one person and injured three others. All victims were shifted to the Civil Hospital in Macch. Police and security forces cordoned off the area soon after the attack and launched a search operation for the assailants. The identity of the attackers remains unknown.

In a separate incident the same night, a powerful blast targeted a railway track in Bakhtiarabad, a town in the Sibi district. The explosion caused significant damage to the rail infrastructure and disrupted the Bolan Mail train service. According to security sources, the attack occurred just as the train was passing through the area, and while no casualties were officially confirmed, rail operations have since been suspended, and an investigation is underway.

The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) later claimed responsibility for the railway attack. In a statement issued to the media, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said the group had targeted the Bolan Mail using a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) near the Limji area of Sibi. The spokesperson added that the train sustained “serious damage” and declared the attack part of what the group describes as an ongoing armed struggle for Balochistan’s independence.
