The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed that its fighters killed at least seven Pakistani soldiers during a three-day-long military confrontation in the mountainous areas of Noshki, while four BLA fighters were “martyred” in action. Additionally, the group announced the “martyrdom” of another fighter who had been critically injured in an earlier attack in Surab.
According to a detailed statement issued by BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, the Pakistani military launched a large-scale offensive on July 19 in the Noshki region, supported by helicopters and drones. In response, BLA fighters mounted what they described as “effective resistance,” engaging in combat across multiple locations to halt the military’s advance.
The spokesperson said that the most intense clashes occurred at a location called Sheshari, where the two sides engaged in close-range fighting that lasted for two days. The BLA claims that despite the Pakistani army’s use of aerial support and special forces, seven special commandoes were killed and several others wounded.
The group acknowledged that four of its fighters were “martyred” during this confrontation, naming them as Commander Sufyan Kurd alias Chairman Shashan, Rasheed Buzdar alias Meeral, Nabeel Badini alias Barag, and Khalid Farooqi alias Zubair.
According to the statement, Sufyan Kurd (alias Chairman Shashan) s/o Mir Saeed Kurd was a political science student at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) in Lahore before joining the BLA. He hailed from Dasht, Bolan, and came from a family known for political and journalistic activism. His grandfather, Babu Abdur Rehman Kurd, is known among Baloch nationalistic circles for his intellectual contributions to the Baloch national cause. The BLA claims he led multiple operations across Noshki, Shor Parod, and Kharan, and was promoted to commander for his strategic abilities.
Rasheed Buzdar (alias Meeral) s/o Hafiz Imam Deen, originally from Allahabad in Dera Ghazi Khan, reportedly joined the BLA in 2022 and later became part of its Majeed Brigade. The group says he participated in major offensives in areas such as Operations Dara-i-Bolan and Herof. According to the BLA, Buzdar continued to fight even after being wounded, and ultimately took his own life with his last bullet to avoid capture.
Nabeel Badini (alias Barag) s/o Inayat Ullah Badini, from Killi Jamalabad in Noshki, had joined the group six months earlier and completed what the BLA calls a “long course” of military training. The group says he was wounded during a helicopter strike but kept fighting until he succumbed to his injuries.
Khalid Farooqi (alias Zubair) s/o Abdul Qayyum Muhammad Hasni, from Station Killi in Taftan, was also said to have completed military training and taken part in various operations in the Noshki region before being “martyred” in action.
The BLA also confirmed the “martyrdom” of fighter Junaid Baloch, who was injured in an earlier attack on July 10 in Surab, where BLA fighters had stormed a Pakistani military camp in Gidar and briefly taken control of two sections of the facility. According to the group, Junaid Baloch (alias King) s/o Noor Ahmed was from Zorabad, Noshki, and had joined the BLA in 2024. He reportedly took part in operations in Kalat, Noshki, and Kharan, and later died from his injuries sustained in the Surab attack.
The BLA hailed all five fighters as “martyrs” and stated that their sacrifices were further proof that, despite technological and military superiority, the Pakistani state had failed to crush the Baloch national resistance. The group vowed to continue its armed struggle with greater intensity and declared its commitment to what it called the pursuit of national liberation.
