The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a string of coordinated armed actions across several regions of Balochistan, stating that its fighters killed at least 23 personnel of the Pakistani military, including a senior officer, and inflicted heavy damage on military infrastructure and intelligence-linked assets.
In a detailed statement issued to media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that the group’s fighters targeted Pakistani forces in Mastung, Kalat, Zamuran, Buleda, and Quetta, while also carrying out attacks in Nushki, Dalbandin, and Panjgur. The statement describes the attacks as part of the group’s ongoing resistance campaign against what it terms as the “occupying” state forces.
According to the BLA, one of the most significant engagements occurred on July 22 in Kalat’s Kohak region, where Pakistani forces attempting an advance were ambushed. The BLA claimed that three military vehicles were directly hit in the attack, and fighters surrounded retreating soldiers, killing 13 on the spot. The group said it seized weapons from the scene and launched a second assault on reinforcements, causing further losses and forcing a retreat.
In Mastung’s Talkh Kawi area, BLA fighters reportedly targeted military personnel with an improvised explosive device (IED), killing six, including a senior officer identified as Major Ziyad, and injuring three others. A second IED attack in Mastung’s Aab Gul area reportedly killed two more and injured four.
The BLA also claimed responsibility for the targeted killing of Muawiya Jamaldini in Nushki, described in the statement as a key figure of a state-backed armed group allegedly involved in targeted killings, home raids, and the harassment of families of slain Baloch fighters. The group said Jamaldini was tracked by its internal intelligence network, Zirab, and was killed while driving home. The BLA said it’s intelligence network also has eyes on other alleged state-backed “death squad” members who will soon meet their fate.
The statemnet furthre said that two vehicles transporting minerals were reportedly set on fire and destroyed in separate actions in Nushki’s Ziarat Dastagir Cross and Dalbandin’s Kurod Phatak. The BLA said it briefly established control of the highway in Dalbandin, conducting snap checks during the operation.
The spokesperson said that on July 22 in Zamuran’s Archanan area, BLA fighters claimed to have killed a Pakistani soldier in a remote-controlled IED attack. In Buleda’s Gilli area, another IED reportedly struck a military vehicle, killing two personnel and injuring three others, and destroying the vehicle.
Jeeyand Baloch claimed that in Quetta’s Akhtarabad area, a BLA unit reportedly launched a grenade attack on a military outpost, and in Panjgur’s Pulabad area, the group claimed to have destroyed surveillance cameras, towers, and associated equipment used by Pakistani forces.
The BLA concluded its statement by reaffirming its commitment to continue what it calls armed resistance until the attainment of Baloch national liberation, and said that its fighters would intensify operations in response to continued military actions.
