Acting Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Inspector was killed and two other police officers were injured in a targeted attack on a police vehicle in the Chuto area of Mastung, Balochistan.
According to the Balochistan government spokesperson, unidentified armed assailants ambushed the police vehicle with heavy gunfire. The DSP, identified Abdul Razzaq, and a constable named Raza Muhammad were killed in the attack, while Constables Taj Muhammad and Khurshid Ahmed were wounded. The injured officers were immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving medical care.
The convoy, consisting of two trucks and two pickup vehicles, was traveling from Kalat to Quetta when it came under attack. The assailants also targeted a second police vehicle in the same ambush.
Following the attack, security forces secured the area and reportedly initiated a search operation to apprehend the attackers. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
