The Deputy Commissioner of Mastung has dismissed 18 Levies personnel from service following a militant attack on 21 June in the Kardegap tehsil, which caused significant damage to government infrastructure.

According to official sources, the attack resulted in the partial destruction of the Levies Station, the local NADRA office, and other public buildings. In addition to property damage, attackers reportedly seized government-issued weapons and communication equipment during the assault.

In response, the Deputy Commissioner took disciplinary action under the Balochistan Levies Force Disciplinary Rules 2015, issuing orders for the termination of 18 Levies personnel. The decision was made based on what the administration described as “a complete failure to perform official duties” during the attack.

A government statement added that the failure of the dismissed personnel to protect key installations had not only resulted in material losses but also undermined the writ of the state.

No group has publicly claimed responsibility for the attack at the time of reporting, and an inquiry into the incident is reportedly underway.
