The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for three separate attacks on Pakistani military forces in Balochistan, saying at least seven soldiers were killed and several others injured.

In a statement issued on Thursday, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the attacks were carried out in the regions of Zamuran, Kolwah and Kalat.

In the first attack, the group said it detonated a remote-controlled explosive device on a military convoy in the Tigraan area of Zamuran. The explosion reportedly destroyed a military truck, killing four soldiers and injuring four more.

In Kolwah, BLA fighters attacked a Pakistani military camp in Rodokahn using heavy weapons. “The enemy suffered casualties in this attack, while the fighters also targeted and destroyed surveillance cameras installed at the camp,” the spokesperson said.

The third operation took place on Monday night in the Sheikhri area of Kalat. According to the BLA, fighters launched a coordinated assault on multiple military posts using automatic weapons and rockets. The group said three soldiers were killed and eight others, including wounded personnel, fled their positions.

The group also claimed it had repelled advancing reinforcements during the Kalat attack, inflicting “additional casualties.”

The BLA is one of the most active “pro-independence” armed groups operating in Balochistan. It routinely claims responsibility for attacks on military installations, convoys, and infrastructure projects.

According to data compiled by The Balochistan Post’s Data Visual Studio, the BLA carried out at least 302 attacks in 2024 alone. These operations reportedly resulted in over 580 deaths and more than 370 injuries. The group claimed activity across 240 locations in 21 districts of Balochistan.

In March this year, the BLA claimed responsibility for hijacking the Jaffar Express train in one of its most high-profile operations to date.

The group said it had taken 214 military personnel hostage, issuing a 48-hour ultimatum demanding the release of Baloch political prisoners. When the deadline expired, the BLA claimed it had executed all hostages, blaming the Pakistani government’s refusal to negotiate.

As of this report, Pakistani military officials have not commented on the latest attacks in Zamuran, Kolwah or Kalat.

The BLA reiterated its commitment to armed resistance, stating that operations would continue “until the complete independence of Balochistan is achieved.”
