The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) has strongly condemned the escalating crackdown on Baloch activists and civilians, highlighting illegal detentions, raids, and enforced disappearances as part of state suppression. The forum has called for an immediate end to these unconstitutional practices.
In a statement, the Baloch Women Forum reported that Pakistani law enforcement officials illegally detained prominent activist Saeeda Baloch along with other Baloch women from a civil hospital. Additionally, in an early morning raid, security forces stormed the residence of Baloch Yakjehti Committee’s (BYC) central member, Bebagr Baloch. He, along with his younger brother, Dr. Hammal Zehri—a PhD scholar—was reportedly taken into custody without any legal justification, the Forum stated.
According to BWF, the latest wave of arrests has raised concerns over the targeting of professionals and students. Last night, Dr. Ilyas Baloch, Vice Principal of Bolan Medical College, and his family were subjected to a raid that resulted in his and his son’s enforced disappearance. Students in hostels have also faced identity checks and harassment during nighttime raids, heightening fear and uncertainty among the youth.
“The state’s brutal policies will do nothing but bring chaos and unrest to society,” the BWF stated. The Forum has demanded the immediate release of those forcibly detained and called for an end to the persecution of Baloch civilians and activists.
The BWF emphasized that such actions reflect the state’s intention to further suppress Baloch voices and disturb peaceful human rights movements. They have urged authorities to halt these violations and respect the rights of the Baloch people.
The Pakistani authorities have yet to respond to these allegations.
