Three Baloch “pro-independence” armed groups—the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), and Baloch Republican Guards (BRG)—have claimed responsibility for separate attacks targeting Pakistani security forces, alleged informants, and construction companies in different parts of Balochistan over the past two days.
BLA Claims Responsibility for Killing Alleged Informant and Seizing Military Supplies
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for two attacks in Kharan and Buleda, in which it allegedly killed a Pakistani military informant and seized military supplies.
In a media statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that Anees Bangulzai, son of Gul Muhammad Bangulzai, was shot dead near Grid Station in Kharan. The group accused him of working with Pakistani forces, assisting in enforced disappearances and military raids.
“Anees Bangulzai was on the BLA’s hit list due to his involvement in anti-Baloch activities,” the statement read. “Today, he was brought to his inevitable end.”
In a separate operation, the BLA said that its fighters intercepted a military supply convoy in the Gurdanak area of Buleda on Saturday. According to the group, the drivers admitted they were transporting goods to Pakistan’s Wakai military camp.
The BLA confiscated the supplies but released the Baloch drivers after warning them against further collaboration with state forces.
BLF Claims Grenade and Sniper Attacks in Kalat and Turbat
The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for multiple attacks, including a hand grenade attack on a police checkpoint in Kalat City and a sniper attack on Pakistani forces in Turbat.
According to BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, on February 1 at 7:45 PM, BLF fighters attacked a police checkpoint near the examination hall of the high school in Kalat City. The group claimed that the attack resulted in casualties and financial losses.
The spokesperson warned that the BLF considers police forces collaborators if they continue supporting the Pakistani military, adding that such checkpoints will remain targets.
The BLF also claimed responsibility for an attack in Absar, Turbat, on February 1 at 6:20 PM. According to the group, its Sniper Tactical Team first killed two security personnel with sniper fire, then launched A-1 grenade attackson the same checkpoint, causing further casualties and damage.
BRG Torches Machinery in Kachhi
The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claimed responsibility for an attack on a construction company operating in the Saani area of Kachhi.
According to BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch, fighters set fire to the company’s machinery, “completely destroying it.” The group said that Baloch workers were spared and allowed to leave unharmed.
BRG stated it considers such projects in Balochistan as a form of exploitation of local resources and said such assaults would continue until Balochistan gains independence.
Escalation in Attacks Across Balochistan
Balochistan has witnessed a sharp rise in armed activities, with “pro-independence” groups targeting Pakistani security forces, alleged informants, and infrastructure projects.
According to data compiled by The Balochistan Post Visual Data Studio, in 2024 alone, such groups conducted 938 attacks across 25 districts, resulting in over 1,000 deaths and 679 injuries.
The BLA, BLF, and BRG have vowed to continue their armed resistance, stating that their operations will persist until the region achieves independence.
