In the Tump area of Kech district, a man was reportedly killed by unidentified armed assailants on motorcycles, local sources said on Friday.
The victim, identified as Musaddiq, was shot outside his home, according to witnesses. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack.
Local sources alleged that the perpetrators are part of a “state-backed” armed group. Baloch nationalist groups claim that such groups, commonly referred to as “death squads,” are active across Balochistan with support from Pakistani forces to counter the Baloch independence movement.
These “death squads” are accused of carrying out enforced disappearances, targeted killings, and other criminal activities in the region, reportedly operating with impunity under the protection of Pakistani authorities.
