A construction site in Balochistan’s Kalat district was attacked by armed assailants, who set heavy machinery on fire, local sources reported on Monday.
The attack took place at a road construction project in the Mehlabi area near Marjan, where Armed men targeted machinery used in a crushing plant.
According to local sources, a group of armed men surrounded the site late at night and detained the company’s workers. After setting the machinery on fire, the assailants released the workers and fled the scene.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
It is worth noting that companies working on road and other infrastructure projects in Balochistan have frequently been targeted by Baloch armed ‘pro-independence’ groups. These groups argue that such projects exploit local resources and serve primarily military purposes.
