Two Balochistan National Party members (BNP) members were presented before the Islamabad High Court on Friday, following their arrest in the capital.
According to details, BNP Secretary of Finance, former MPA Akhtar Hussain Langove, and Shafi Mengal, the personal secretary of party leader Sardar Akhtar Mengal, were handed over to police on a five-day physical remand.
The arrests stem from an FIR filed after alleged acts of vandalism and violence in the Senate the previous day. BNP members were taken into custody following these accusations.
Earlier, BNP Chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal had held a press conference with dissident BNP Senator Qasim Ronjho outside the assembly, accusing the government and institutions of forcibly securing votes in favor of proposed constitutional amendments. Following the press conference, Senator Ronjho later accused Mengal of forcing him to make the public statement, which led to a complaint being filed by the Joint Secretary of the Senate against Mengal and his associates.
