A shooting incident in the Dringar area of Balochistan’s Mastung district reportedly claimed lives of two Levies personnel and three civilians, while three other officers, including the SHO, sustained injuries.

The incident unfolded in Mastung district, where an exchange of fire resulted in the deaths of Levies officers Mumtaz Ahmed, son of Allah Bakhsh, and Babu Mazar Khan, son of Muhammad Bakhsh. The injured officers include SHO Dringar Haji Ayaz Ahmed, son of Muhammad Usman, and officers Muhammad Naeem, son of Abdul Aleem, and Habibullah, son of Sarfaraz, who are currently in critical condition.

Sources from Mastung revealed that the Levies Force had detained an individual prior to the incident. The detainee’s associates blocked the road and staged a protest demanding his release. The Levies Force in Dringar attempted to disperse the agitated protesters, leading to a confrontation. During the exchange of fire, two Levies personnel and three civilians lost their lives.

The injured and deceased were transported to Nawab Ghaus Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital. The situation remains tense as authorities investigate the incident.
