As the Pakistani troops approached the area, they allegedly came under fire from Afghan forces positioned on the other side of the border.
Subedar Tariq Iqbal, 27, was shot in the abdomen during the exchange, which lasted nearly an hour.
Subedar Iqbal was critically injured and later died from his wounds. His body was transported to his hometown in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
