Three Baloch youths have allegedly been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces in the Kech district of Balochistan.
According to reports, Pakistani forces, along with intelligence agencies, carried out a house search operation with a convoy of three vehicles in Askani Bazaar of Turbat city and forcibly disappeared two youths. Two of the missing youths have been identified as Zakir Ali, son of Majeed, and Faqir, son of Wahid Bakhsh.
In another similar incident, Javed Ali, a resident of the Mehnaz area of Buleda, went missing while traveling from Buleda to Turbat on July 31, 2024. The victim’s family accused Pakistani forces of forcibly disappearing the youth. However, the district administration and military authorities have not yet confirmed or denied the allegations.
It is important to mention that cases of enforced disappearances are not uncommon in Balochistan and are being reported regularly. On the other hand, families and nationalist groups are continuously protesting against these enforced disappearances. Notably, more than 55,000 people are reportedly missing from all over Balochistan. Human rights organizations, including the Human Rights Watch, and Amnesty International, accuse the state’s forces and intelligence agencies of being involved in enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
