At least 11 pilgrims were killed and 35 injured in a traffic accident on the Makran Coastal Highway in Ormara, Balochistan.

According to police, the bus carrying pilgrims from Iran to Punjab overturned near Buzzi Tap and fell into a ditch as the driver lost control of the vehicle due to over-speeding. The accident resulted in the death of 11 pilgrims and the injury of 35 others, who are said to be residents of different districts in Pakistan’s Punjab province.

Dawn News, citing Ali Hassan, one of the injured passengers, reported that the bus was carrying around 60 passengers.

The dead and injured were shifted to Hub Chowki and Lasbela Hospital, where they were given first aid before being moved to Karachi for further treatment.

It should be mentioned that road accidents occur on a daily basis in Balochistan. Every year, thousands of people lose their lives due to old and dilapidated roads.
