Pakistani forces have reportedly detained a young man from the Kalat district of Balochistan and moved him to an undisclosed location.
According to reports, an 18-year-old youth, identified as Sarfaraz Ahmed, son of Master Zahoor Ahmad Langove, a resident of Khaliqabad, was detained by Pakistani forces at Johan Cross in Kalat district’s Manguchar.
Sarfaraz’s family confirmed that he was detained on August 18th, and since then, his whereabouts remain unknown. They expressed deep concern for his well-being and have urged the authorities to release him.
It is important to note that enforced disappearances are a recurring issue in Balochistan and continue to rise. Human rights organizations, such as the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), have been campaigning for more than a decade to end these disappearances and ensure the safe return of those missing. According to the VBMP, thousands of people are missing from Balochistan, and the number continues to grow.
