The five bodies found tied to electricity poles in Balochistan’s Dalbandin have been identified as Afghan nationals, local police confirmed on Saturday.
The bodies were discovered by local residents on Friday morning in a residential area near the Government Boys Degree College. All five men had been shot, but no group has claimed responsibility for the killings.
The victims have been identified as Rozi Muhammad, Rehmat Ullah, Sami Ullah, Agha Wali, and Sardar Wali, all residents of Lashkar Gah, Afghanistan.
The identification was confirmed by Muhammad Yahya, an Afghan refugee living in the Girdi Jangle camp in Chagai, who recognized the bodies at the Shah Fahad Bin Sultan Hospital.
Local sources suggest the men might be linked to a recent viral video in which a group of men confessed to involvement in the murder of Murad Notezai, a leader of the Iran-based militant group Jaish al-Adl. The group is suspected of having kidnapped and executed these men in retaliation.
However, officials have not confirmed whether the victims are the same individuals from the video or if the killings were motivated by other reasons.
