Pakistani forces have allegedly detained four people from Balochistan’s capital city, Quetta, while two missing persons were released from the Awaran district.

On Wednesday, in Balochistan’s Awaran district, two missing individuals, Deedag s/o Moosa, and Akhtar s/o Sahab Dad, were released and returned to their homes after eight months of detention.

Deedag was detained by Pakistani forces on November 7, 2023, and Akhtar was detained on November 29, 2023.

However, four more individuals, Sohaib Langove s/o Muhammad Deen Langove, Waqas s/o Muhammad Baksh, Nisar Ahmed, and Amjad Baloch, have been reported missing from Quetta.

Sohaib Langove went missing after being detained in Killi Ismail, while Waqas was detained on Wednesday from Mannu Jan Road.

On July 22, Nisar Ahmed was reportedly detained by Pakistani forces in Quetta, and his fate remains unknown. Earlier, on Sunday, July 21, Pakistani forces forcibly disappeared Amjad Baloch from PTCL Colony in Quetta.

Forced disappearances are a frequent occurrence in Balochistan. More than 55,000 Baloch people have been reported missing from various areas of the region. Human rights organizations, including Baloch rights groups, Human Rights Watch, and Amnesty International, accuse Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies of being responsible for these enforced disappearances.
