The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), a Baloch ‘pro-independence’ armed group, has claimed responsibility for two separate attacks in the Kech district of Balochistan.
According to the BLF spokesperson, the ‘Sarmachars (freedom fighters)’ targeted a convoy of 40 Pakistani army vehicles heading for an operation in Zamuran, in Buleda, an outskirts area of Turbat city. “Eight Pakistani soldiers, including a junior officer, were killed in the IED attack, and the vehicle was completely destroyed,” the BLF spokesperson said.
In another statement, the BLF claimed responsibility for setting fire to trawlers carrying minerals on the M-8 CPEC highway in the Shahrak area of Kech.
The group’s spokesperson, Major Gwahram Baloch, said that BLF fighters attacked and severely damaged trawlers transporting minerals from Gwadar to Punjab during the blockade on the CPEC highway in Kech.
The BLF warned all businessmen that those providing assistance and cooperation in any project of Pakistan “would be declared enemies of the nation if they continued to support Pakistan’s interests in Balochistan.”
