The Department of Fisheries and Coastal Development has announced a ban on all types of fishing from June 1 to July 31 to protect the fish breeding season, as per Section 6 of the Fisheries Ordinance 1971.

The Secretary of Fisheries and Balochistan Coastal Development Department has exercised powers under the ordinance to prohibit fishing in Balochistan’s marine boundaries, territorial waters, marine canals, dams, and inland sectors during this period.

Every year, from June 1 to July 31, the Department enforces this strict ban to protect fish during their breeding season, helping to maintain ecological balance and support sustainable fishing practices.

The Department of Fisheries and Coastal Development urged fishermen and related stakeholders to comply with the ban, highlighting the long-term benefits of protecting fish breeding cycles, including safeguarding the region’s aquatic biodiversity.
