Pakistani forces claimed to have killed five suspects and arrested one in an alleged exchange of fire during an alleged operation in Zhob area of Balochistan on Monday.
According to officials, five suspects were killed and one person was arrested in an injured condition in an intelligence-based operation Sambaza area of Zhob district. The forces also said that a cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the hideout of the fighters.
It should be noted that on Saturday, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have killed four people during an operation in Quetta. According to CTD Quetta, these people were involved in the attack on the police vehicle. The identities of those killed in Zhob and Quetta are yet to be ascertained.
It is pertinent to mention that the CTD operations in Balochistan have been controversial in the past, where previously enforced disappeared persons were killed in “fake encounters.”
