Poet and journalist Ahmed Farhad from Pakistan-administered Kashmir has gone missing on intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday from his residency.
According to Farhad’s wife, the kidnappers barged into the house and disconnected the CCTV and forcibly dragged Ahmed Farhad out of the house. After which his whereabouts remains unknown.
According to sources, Farhad’s disappearance is linked to his recent reporting on the protests in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and criticism of military establishment.
The abduction provoked criticisms and outcry from the journalistic and political activist communities.
The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday ordered the recovery of missing poet Ahmed Farhad Shah and directed the police to present him in court on Thursday. Similarly, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) demended the immediately release of the Ahmed Farhad, in a statement issued to X, formerly twitter.
It’s should be mentioned that recent unrest in Pakistan-administered Kashmir has left four people have died and 100 others wounded after Punjab Rangers crackdown over protesters in the Kashmir’s capital Muzaffarabad.
