Recent developments indicate heightened activity by Pakistani security forces in several key areas of Balochistan, including Nushki, Surab, and Mastung. Reports suggest that large contingents of forces, accompanied by substantial rations, are being deployed — an indication that a significant and potentially prolonged military operation may be underway.
Local sources in Nushki have observed substantial troop movements in the mountainous region of Reko and its neighboring areas. Witnesses report that forces are transporting rations using camels.
Similarly, in Surab, convoys of Pakistani forces have been spotted in Isplinji, further fueling speculation about an impending operation. The eyewitness accounts suggest that the forces may be planning a major offensive that could encompass not only the mentioned areas but also Kalat and Kharan.
Despite these developments, Pakistani officials have remained silent on the matter. Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Sarfaraz Bugti, has previously acknowledged the possibility of military operations in the region. In recent statements, he affirmed the state’s commitment to using all available resources to counter separatist movements advocating for an independent Balochistan.
Bugti emphasized the need to assert state authority and indicated that political backing would be provided to the security forces to address the situation as deemed necessary.
