The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a Baloch ‘pro-independence’ armed group, has issued a media statement claiming responsibility for recent attacks in Balochistan’s Dukki district, which resulted in six injuries.
According to the statement, BLA fighters targeted individuals they describe as members of a state-backed ‘death squad’, which they allege is composed of hardened criminals and pro-Pakistani militia. The BLA asserts that it conducted two distinct assaults aimed at these alleged agents. The first attack involved BLA combatants engaging ‘death squad’ members as they patrolled on motorcycles, leading to three injuries.
The second offensive saw BLA ‘sarmachars’ (fighters) employing grenade launchers against the ‘death squad’, inflicting wounds on an additional three individuals.
The BLA’s statement warns that any party, whether directly or indirectly involved in aiding the Pakistani state and its military in what the BLA views as the exploitation of Baloch territories and resources, will face retribution.
