A spate of shootings across various districts of Balochistan on Saturday resulted in two fatalities and two injuries, including a woman, The Balochistan Post has learned.
In the district of Kalat, a police operation escalated when an assailant opened fire while attempting to flee, wounding a police officer named Abdul Wahab Zehri. The injured officer was promptly taken to a hospital for treatment.
Concurrently, in Quetta’s Jan Muhammad Road, an unidentified gunmen targeted a female school teacher, leaving her injured. The perpetrator escaped, and the teacher was subsequently hospitalized for her injuries.
Additional reports from Balochistan indicate two more deaths due to gunfire. In one incident, a man was shot dead in an alley on Quetta’s Raisani Road. In another shooting in Naseerabad, Hafiz Ali Ahmad Khiazi, the district General Secretary of JUP, was killed by armed assailants in Goth Qamaruddin Khiazi. Police have initiated an investigation following the transfer of Khiazi’s body to the hospital. The motive behind the murder remains undetermined.
