Quetta, the capital city of Balochistan, witnessed an incident as unidentified armed individuals targeted a police station with a hand grenade attack.
The police station located in the Sariab area of Quetta became the focal point of the attack.
According to police sources, although the personnel inside the station remained unharmed, one individual near the vicinity of the station sustained minor injuries.
Dostain Baloch, spokesperson for the Baloch Republican Guards, issued a statement to the media, claiming responsibility for the attack. He stated that their fighter targeted the “occupying” Pakistani police force in Quetta on Sunday evening.
Baloch asserted that their fighter launched the attack on the New Sariab police station with a hand grenade, resulting in one police officer sustaining injuries and significant damage to properties and vehicles.
Such incidents underscore the security challenges prevailing in Balochistan, where Baloch pro-independence armed groups often target security forces and government installations as part of their insurgency against the Pakistani state.
