The Pakistani forces reportedly came under attack in Balochistan’s Kech district, resulting in three fatalities and several injuries. The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), a ‘pro-independence’ armed group, has claimed responsibility for the assault, vowing to keep fighting until Balochistan achieves liberation.
According to Major Gohram Baloch, the BLF spokesperson, the attack occurred at 9:30 pm on Thursday in Turbat’s “Taleemi Chowk.” BLF fighters targeted a security forces checkpoint with a grenade, resulting in the immediate death of one soldier and injuries to others. In response, the security forces allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on the nearby civilian areas.
The BLF also claimed responsibility for a separate attack in Tump at 10:30 pm. In this attack, BLF fighters caught Pakistani forces off guard, using heavy weapons. Two soldiers were killed on the spot, and additional injuries were reported.
Despite immediate assistance from nearby security forces, the BLF fighters managed to escape back to their camp, the BLF statement read.
