A major attack has taken place in the coastal city of Balochistan’s Gwadar, with heavy gunfire and explosions near the Marine Drive Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Complex and the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) offices. The Baloch Liberation Army’s (BLA) Majeed Brigade has claimed responsibility for this attack.

According to a BLA statement, the attack, which began at 3:30 PM, targeted the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) and MI (Military Intelligence) offices. The group said that the operation is still in progress and that further details will be released to the media. This marks the second significant operation by the Majeed Brigade in two months.

Initial reports and visual evidence suggested a severe confrontation between the attackers and security forces, with multiple buildings reported to be aflame within the vicinity of Marine Drive. The area near Marine Drive, known for housing sensitive state and Chinese facilities, emphasizes the potential implications of the attack.

Latest updates reveal multiple casualties following the BLA’s attack. Reports suggest that Dr. Imran of Military Intelligence has been killed, along with several others wounded or killed. Pakistani security forces claim that they have killed eight assailants so far.

Makuran Commissioner Saeed Ahmed Umrani reported that armed individuals entered the Gwadar Port Authority Complex, commencing gunfire amidst several explosions. “A large contingent of police and security forces has arrived at the scene, and intense firing continues,” he added.
