A Baloch man reportedly went missing from Balochistan’s district Surab on Monday.

According to reports, last night around 8:00 PM, Pakistani forces, along with the personnel of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Balochistan and some masked individuals, allegedly forcibly disppeared a man after his arrest.

The victim has been identified as Abdul Razziq, son of Abdul Khaliq.

Abdul Razziq’s family blocked the main RCD road in protest in Surab throughout the night. The family, in a statement, said, “Our protest will continue until the safe return of Abdul Razzaq.”

Dr. Mahrang Baloch, the leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), and other members also joined the protest.

Abdul Razzaq’s father said that his son was forcibly detained when he was on his way to the mosque to offer prayers. He further added that earlier, his other son was also forcibly detained. However, he was released after several months of detention, but he is still mentally paralyzed.

Dr. Mahrang praised Abdul Razziq’s father, Abdul Khaliq, saying that it is our constitutional right to stand up against every oppression that happens to us. We appreciate your step, and the state must change its enforced disappearance policy; otherwise, the masses in Balochistan will gather and take to the roads and streets against it.

Mahrang Baloch requested the residents of Surab and its environs to come out and stand with this “oppressed family against this lawlessness”.
