Pakistani forces reportedly detained three people on their way to Quetta from Mach and subsequently moved them to an undisclosed location.
The Voice of Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), an organization working against enforced disappearances in Balochistan, confirmed the incident in a media statement on Saturday. The organization alleged that three people had been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani law enforcement agencies near Digari Cross when they were en route from Mach to Quetta.
The VBMP identified the detainees as Mir Zaman son of Shah Zaman Sumalani, Ahmed Nawaz son of Khuda Rahim Samulani, and Sanaullah son of Khuda Bakhsh Bangulzai.
The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons demanded the safe recovery of the forcibly disappeared persons and said that due to the negligence of the government and the authorities on this issue, there has been a humanitarian crisis in Balochistan, which if not stopped, the situation will worsen and the responsibility will be on the state.
Balochistan is plagued by the enforced disappearances of Baloch youth and activists. International campaign groups including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International accuse Pakistani security forces as the perpetrators of illegal abductions in Balochistan.
