The Pakistani security forces are conducting a military operation in Balochistan’s Bolan district for the third consecutive day, according to local sources. The sources reported seeing gunship helicopters flying over the area as the ground forces moved toward the civilian settlements.
The sources also said that they heard explosions and shelling in the mountainous regions. The forces allegedly arrested two herders, who sons of a man named Aliyan, during the operation. Their names have not been verified.
The sources said that the two brothers were grazing their cattle in the mountains where the operation was launched. They have not returned home yet, and the sources believe that they were taken by the forces.
The operation began three days ago and has intensified. The forces have advanced in several areas of Bolan, including Jambro, Chakki Wadh, Mian Kor, Lakkar, and others.
