Baloch “pro-independence” groups, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), have claimed responsibility for recent attacks targeting Pakistani security forces and infrastructure in different areas of Balochistan.

In a media statement, Jeeyand Baloch, the spokesperson for the BLA, claimed responsibility for two separate attacks in Tump and Zamuran. He stated that BLA fighters targeted a Pakistani security forces’ check post at the Tump Grid Station using grenades and heavy weaponry on Tuesday evening, leading to two fatalities and three injuries. Additionally, the BLA claimed to have targeted a communication tower in the Dashtak area of Zamuran on January 1, 2024, alleging its use for military purposes.

In another media statement, Major Gwahram Baloch, the spokesperson for the BLF, claimed responsibility for an attack on a Pakistani forces’ check post in the Kolwah area of Kech district on Tuesday. According to the spokesperson, this attack involved heavy and modern weaponry, resulting in one death and two injuries.

Both the BLA and the BLF emphasized that these attacks are part of their ongoing campaign against Pakistani forces in Balochistan. They expressed their determination to continue such attacks as part of their struggle for what they describe as the liberation of Balochistan.

As of this report, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has not issued any official response or comment regarding the recent attacks or the claims made by the Baloch armed groups.
