At least two people were killed and eight others, including a woman were injured in a traffic accident in Gwadar, the coastal city of Balochistan on Friday.

According to reports, two persons were killed on the spot and eight others, including a woman, were injured when a vehicle overturned on the Makuran Coastal Highway at Chakli, near Pasni tehsil of Gwadar.

Rescue teams immediately reached the scene and shifted the corpses and injured to Pak Omani Hospital Pasni.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Samad son of Hassan, a resident of Pasni and Muhammad Shahid son of Abdul Hameed, a resident of Lyari in Karachi, while the injured were Rustam son of Amber Kulanchi, a resident of Pasni, Moosa son of Aslam, a resident of Pasni, Waqar son of Nabi Bakhsh, a resident of Pasni, Nisar son of Muskan, a resident of Hirronk Turbat, Vashdil son of Syed Muhammad, Shahista, the wife of Nisar, resident of Hirronk, Kashif son of Javed, a resident of Pasni and Ayaz son of Ejaz, a resident of Pasni.

It’s pertinent to mention that Road accidents are a common occurrence in Balochistan due to outdated roads. According to statistics released by the Medical Emergency Response Center (MERC) 1122, Balochistan witnessed 823 traffic accidents that claimed 24 lives and injured 1173 in the month of September this year.
