Pakistani military, reportedly aided with gunship helicopters, has launched a large-scale military operation in Bolan and Quetta areas of Balochistan on Thursday.
According to reports, the Pakistan Army is carrying out a large-scale military operations in different areas of Bolan, including Zarghoon and Margat, the outskirts of the capital Quetta.
According to regional sources, combat helicopters are taking part in the operation, helicopters have been spotted shelling at various area, while ground forces have blocked different places.
There are no clear reports of casualties and forced disappearances due to the completed siege of the area so far.
It should be mentioned that on Wednesday evening, a large number of armed men blocked the highway at Margat area of Bolan. During the checking of vehicles, gunmen captured an officer of the Pakistan Army and his colleague and took them away. However, Pakistani authorities have not yet confirmed or denied the incident or the ongoing military operation in the area.
The “pro-independence” Baloch armed, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has been active in the area. Three days earlier, a project manager of the Pakistan Mineral and Development Corporation (PMDC) was targeted in a bomb attack near Margat, killing him on the spot and seriously injuring his driver.
The Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for targeting the PMDC manager.
