Two Baloch youths have allegedly been abducted by Pakistani forces from the coastal city of Gwadar in Balochistan and Karachi, the capital of Sindh.

The abductees have been identified as two cousins, Meeran, son of Hussain, and Sameer, son of Naimat, residents of Turbat, the main city of Kech.

Meeran Baloch was detained in Gwadar on Friday night, while Sameer was apprehended reportedly by Pakistani forces from Rais Goth, Karachi.

However, government authorities have not commented on the matter, and the whereabouts of the abductees remain undisclosed.

Enforced disappearances have seen a sudden spike in recent days, with more than dozens of cases reported from different areas of Balochistan on a daily basis.

The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, a rights group advocating for an end to ‘enforced disappearances’ in Balochistan, completed its 5171st consecutive demonstration this Friday and expressed concern over the increasing number of cases of enforced disappearances and fake encounters of Baloch youths in recent days.
