Security forces in Karachi have reportedly detained three individuals allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of a Rangers official in the Lyari town. Those arrested are reportedly affiliated with the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), a Baloch “pro-independence” group fighting for the independence of Balochistan.

Forces Officials state that initial detentions took place in the Baldia Town area, specifically in the Raees Goth neighborhood of Karachi. Subsequent interrogations led to the arrest of the primary suspect in Awaran, Balochistan. The detained individuals are believed to have targeted the Rangers official from a motorcycle, with one suspect allegedly shooting from the back seat. While one of the suspects is from Awaran, the other two reportedly hail from Karachi.

The incident occurred on August 7, when the security official, identified as Dilshad, was fatally shot in Lyari’s Behar Colony area on Alfalah Road. Although the BLF had previously claimed responsibility for the attack, the group has not yet commented on these latest arrests.
