Saira Baloch, a resident of Khuzdar, Balochistan, has reported continuous intimidation against her family by unidentified individuals. She’s been actively campaigning for the past five years against the enforced disappearance of her brother, Asif, and cousin, Rasheed Baloch.
The family members, notably her sisters, have been reportedly followed and given threatening notes, pressuring them to discontinue their education. In addition to these threats, the family has received anonymous calls of a menacing nature.
Addressing the distressing situation, Saira Baloch stated, “My family’s ordeal doesn’t end with the enforced disappearance of my brother and cousin. Instead of answers, we’re faced with a growing shadow of insecurity and fear.”
Saira’s family has made repeated appeals, both on national and international platforms for the safe return of Asif and Rasheed. These efforts have seen Saira participate in demonstrations across cities like Quetta and Islamabad.
Addressing local authorities, Saira Baloch has requested protection and action against those she claims are harassing her sisters outside educational institutions. Her plea extends to the broader community, urging political and social figures to stand against the alleged injustices faced by her family.
